Why might someone make a papercraft M? Their reasons may vary – for the love of the game, school pride, an overabundance of time, extra maize and blue card stock laying around, and so on.
Back in 2010, when I was working for a marketing group at U-M, our director retired. As part of her retirement we had a statue made up for her with the phrase “Defender of the Brand”. I was tasked with adding a block M in some form to the statue. I made a 3D papercraft Block M (to spec at the time) and added it to a statue from a local trophy shop.
Just like Hadden Suit in Contact, I built a second one. Or rather, I cut up enough pieces to make a second one. Fast forward 2.5 years… and I finally found time to put it together.
